Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller reports that at 1:37 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Marinette
County Dispatch was notified of a one-vehicle crash on Louisa Street in the Village of Crivitz. The caller
reported that the vehicle had crashed into a building.
The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Terry A. Garbisch, age 66, of Sheboygan,
Wisconsin was driving east on Main Avenue when he failed to turn at Louisa Street and crashed into two
buildings. Garbisch, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported by rescue for his injuries, and on
Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Garbisch died as a result
of injuries sustained in the crash. Speed, alcohol, and failure to wear a seatbelt appear to have been
factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County
Medical Examiner’s Office. Also assisting at the scene were members of the Crivitz Fire Department,
Middle Inlet Fire Department, Crivitz Rescue, Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area EMS, and Tim Witt
Chevrolet Towing.
