Crivitz, WI — State Representative Jeff Mursau (R–Crivitz) today announced that he will seek re-election to represent Wisconsin’s 36th Assembly District, pledging to keep fighting for northern Wisconsin families, small businesses, and rural communities.
“As a lifelong resident of this area, I understand the challenges families and businesses here face,” Mursau said. “I will remain a strong voice for the people I represent and focus on delivering commonsense solutions that reflect our values.”
Mursau highlighted his authorship of legislation addressing PFAS contamination, which passed the Legislature with unanimous bipartisan support and was signed into law by the governor. The bill package makes funding available for contaminated wells, protects innocent landowners from liability, and holds responsible parties accountable. He said it is an example of what can be accomplished when lawmakers work together to solve real problems.
During his time in office, Mursau has focused on issues critical to his district, including responsible budgeting; backing forestry and small businesses; infrastructure improvements; and protecting natural resources that are vital to the region’s economy and heritage. As chair of the Assembly Committee on Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation, he has worked to advance policies that strengthen Wisconsin’s outdoor economy and preserve access to public lands.
“Serving the people of this district has been an honor,” Mursau said. “We’ve made important progress, but there is more work to be done to protect our way of life, grow our local economies, and ensure our region remains strong for future generations.”
The upcoming election will take place in November 2026. Mursau encouraged constituents to stay engaged and make their voices heard throughout the campaign.
“I’m grateful for the trust voters have placed in me over the years,” he said. “I look forward to earning their support once again.”
