“Many Hands Make Light Work!” And with the holidays approaching don’t we need all the help we can get? Why not let the Partners of Jake Menghini Museum in Norway make your holiday’s lighter by helping you with your holiday baking?
We invite you to join friends and neighbors at the annual Taste of Chocolate, to be held on Saturday, November 17 from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at the Norway Senior Citizen’s Center at 608 Main Street in Norway. For a $5 admittance fee, you may sample all the chocolate and traditional holiday sweets on display, from which you may select an assortment of homemade favorites to take home, if you so desire. Along with your sweet samples, free coffee, punch, cheese, sausage and crackers will be available for your enjoyment while you relax and visit.
As in the past, this fun event will include raffle baskets valued between $50 an $100. These include: an American Girl Doll, a Thanksgiving Dinner Basket, a Christmas Basket, a Wine Basket, A Night Out Basket and a Cash Basket. The tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You need not be present to win. Hourly prizes will be awarded for those who linger, as well as door prizes.
The central display this year will be Grandma’s Kitchen, with antique items related to yesteryear’s family food preparation. Of special interest is a large selection of “Sad Irons” from the collection of Sandy Corsi. Quests will enjoy a guessing game regarding nostalgic household items with prizes for correct answers.
All proceeds of the Taste of Chocolate benefit the operation of Norway’s Jake Menghini Museum. The event is designed to make your holidays lighter, brighter and more enjoyable. Please join us. You’ll be glad you did.
