Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller reports that at 3:04 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, Marinette
County Dispatch was notified of a single UTV crash that happened on Caldron Falls Road near Fawn
Lane in the Town of Stephenson. The caller, who was an off-duty Marinette County Sheriff’s detective,
reported coming upon the UTV, which was rolled over on the side of the roadway. The detective stopped
and observed there were two people pinned under the UTV and immediately began rendering aid.
The investigation indicates that a UTV operated by Brooke D. Boulanger, age 40, of Crivitz,
Wisconsin was traveling north on Caldron Falls Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and
rolled over. Boulanger, who was not wearing seatbelt or helmet, sustained fatal injuries. A passenger in
the UTV, who was also not wearing a seatbelt or helmet, also sustained injuries and was transported for
medical treatment. Speed, alcohol, and failure to wear a seatbelt appear to have been factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Marinette
County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office. Also assisting at the
scene were members of the Town of Stephenson Fire Department, Twin Bridge Rescue, and Oconto Falls
Ambulance Service.
