(VULCAN, MI.)–Troopers from Michigan State Police Post in Iron Mountain have released information concerning the fatal traffic crash in Vulcan. They noted the accident occurred on US-2 at 5:59pm on Saturday in front of the Vulcan BP Gas Station in Norway Township. A Chevrolet Impala passenger car was in the eastbound lane, attempting to turn left into the Vulcan BP when a Ford pickup truck rear ended the vehicle. The pickup then veered into the oncoming traffic lane, colliding head on with a third vehicle, a Chevrolet Acadia. The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The Acadia overturned and a small fire started as a result of the collision. The driver of the Ford pickup was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Acadia was pronounced dead upon arrival at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. The passenger of the Acadia remained in stable condition, then was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The driver and passenger in the Chevrolet Impala reported no injuries. The crash remains under investigation, with no names being released at this time. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Norway Police, Integrity Care Ambulance and Norway Township Fire.
