(MARQUETTE, MI.)–Nurses said they had no alternative but to walk a picket line, when they failed to reach an agreement in negotiations. The nurses at the UP Health System in Marquette are on what they say is a 48-hour walkout until 7pm Eastern Time on Sunday. For six months there has been a dispute between the hospital and the nurses. Arrangements made by hospital officials have temporary nurses to fill the full time nurses shifts. Nurses union officials said no additional negotiations have been scheduled.
