Harris, MI – Island Resort & Casino will once again welcome some of the nation’s top collegiate
men’s golf programs to the Upper Peninsula over Labor Day weekend, September 6 and 7,
2026, for the seventh annual Island Resort Intercollegiate at Sage Run Golf Course. The public
is welcome to watch the tournament. Admission is free.
Hosted by South Dakota State University, the 54-hole, two-day stroke-play tournament has
established itself as a premier early-season event on the collegiate golf calendar. The 2026 field
of twelve NCAA Division I programs includes defending champions, West Virginia University,
the University of Michigan, the University of Central Florida, Miami (OH) University and
Marquette University, which joins the tournament field for the first time this year. Additional
teams competing in the 2026 event include Ball State University, Boise State University, Virginia
Commonwealth University, St. Mary’s College, the University of North Texas and Kansas City
University.

a convenient place to grab food and beverages while they’re here for the tournament.”
Sage Run Golf Course, designed by renowned architect Paul Albanese, is a 7,309-yard, par-72
course known for its dramatic elevation changes, natural terrain and strategic challenges. It is
located just 8 miles west of the Island Resort & Casino at W1824 County Road 400 in Harris.
