Iron Mountain – The Iron Mountain Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a structure
fire at 107 Fourth Street, at 09:01 p.m. on July 12th, 2026. Crews arrived in under 3 minutes of
dispatch to find heavy smoke showing from the rear of the structure.
In a coordinated effort, Iron Mountain Fire crews pulled hose lines and established a water
supply. One crew made entry into the first floor from the front of the building and began
aggressive interior extinguishment and search efforts. While extinguishment was taking place
IMFD personnel found and removed two dogs from the structure. Resuscitation efforts were
initiated by IMFD personnel before transferring care of the dogs to IMPD and Integrity Care
EMS. IMFD crews continued to overhaul the first and second floor of the structure to ensure no
fire conditions remained.
Iron Mountain Fire responded initially with an engine and four firefighters. After a recall of off-
duty personnel an additional 6 firefighters, an engine, and a utility pickup arrived at the scene as
well. Assisting agencies included the Iron Mountain Police Department, and DTE.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Any questions regarding the incident or the
