A Houghton County man was arrested on May 6th, 2025, after a several month investigation by
detectives with the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET). Detectives from
UPSET along with Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post and Deputies from the
Houghton County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Calumet Township residence
where a 25-year-old suspect was arrested on charges relating to possession with intent to
distribute methamphetamine.
Methamphetamine, paraphernalia, cellular phones, and evidence of distribution were seized from
the residence. The suspect was lodged at the Houghton County Jail and is pending arraignment in
the 97th District Court. Detectives from UPSET along with the Houghton County Prosecutor’s
Office are working collaboratively on a larger investigation involving multiple people distributing
illegal drugs in the area.
