Iron Mountain – The Iron Mountain Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a possible structure fire at 800 South Stephenson, Wendy’s Restaurant, at 02:48 a.m. on February 25, 2025. Crews arrived in under 4 minutes of dispatch to find smoke coming from the South side of the building.
Iron Mountain Fire crews pulled multiple hose lines and established a water supply. After forcing entry to the structure, crews found fire in the kitchen area of the establishment. They were able to get quick extinguishment of the fire, and performed a thorough search of the structure to ensure no further fire conditions existed.
Iron Mountain Fire responded initially with an engine and four firefighters. After a recall of off- duty personnel an additional 2 firefighters, an engine, and a utility pickup arrived at the scene. Assisting agencies included the Iron Mountain Police Department, Iron Mountain DPW, DTE, Dickinson County Sherrif’s Department, and the Michigan State Police. No emergency personnel or civilian injuries were reported during the incident.
