The Dickinson County Board Of Commissioners will have some new faces after the first of the year. Three incumbents were voted out in yesterday’s election. That includes Chairman Henry Wender, who lost to Peter Swanson 588-477 in District 4. Incumbent Joe Stevens in District 1 defeated Angela Olson 314-232. There were no Democratic candidates vying for either of those positions. In District 2, Democrat William Revord will face Republican Kevin Sullivan in November. Sullivan defeated incumbent Ann Martin 266-153. In District 3, Democrat Sandy LaFave who ran unopposed, will face Republican Dan Harrington in November. Harrington defeated incumbent Barbara Kramer 373-330. In District 5, Democrat incumbent John Daegner will face Republican Victoria Jakel. Both ran unopposed. In the U.S. Congress race, incumbent Republican Jack Bergman will square off against Democrat Callie Barr in November. In the 109th State Representative race, it will be incumbent Democrat Jenn Hill facing Republican challenger Karl Bohnak. In the 110th Representative race it will be Democrat Kim Corcoran opposing incumbent Greg Markkanen in November. Both ran without opposition. In the major millage questions, the Dickinson County Enhanced 9-1-1 renewal was passed easily 3,454 yes to 1,651 no. The Dickinson County Library Millage Proposal passed as well with 2,796 yes to 2,325 no. Voters said no to a pay raise for the Iron Mountain City Council members yesterday. The no vote was 565 and the yes was at 543. The sinking fund proposal for the North Dickinson School District passed with yes at 339 and no 247. Election officials were disappointed in the relatively low voter turnout.
