IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich.—Dickinson County Healthcare is strengthening medical team leadership
with the appointment of Dr. Eric Johnson as DCH System Medical Director. In his new position,
Dr. Johnson will synergize leadership, provide strategic oversight and operational direction of the
entire Medical Staff, including Physician Services and Hospital/Clinic Departments.

added locally-based providers in Heart Care, Cancer Care, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, and Urology. The net
result is a comprehensive medical team that brings an unparalleled level of services to the Dickinson County Region.

Dr. Johnson’s roots run deep in the Upper Peninsula, spending 4 years in Iron County and 6 years in Marquette. Additionally, as a
prior military Expeditionary and Aerospace Physician, he enthusiastically states, “it is a blessing for us to return to a community that
feels like home and raise our children here.” He currently is an Emergency Medicine Physician, serving in directorship for Emergency
Medical and Trauma Services.
As System Medical Director, Dr. Johnson will also be instrumental in working in a dyad partnership with the Vice President of
Physician Services and Clinical Networks in cooperation with the Hospital Leadership Team and Medical Staff to ensure regulations
and accreditation standards are maintained. Ultimately, Dr. Johnson is responsible for ensuring every patient at DCH receives the
highest quality medical care locally in the safest, easiest, and most efficient ways possible.
Dr. Johnson adds, “I am incredibly proud of the grit shown as we’ve weathered this pandemic together. These challenges have
ushered in an exciting time of rebuilding and recovery for our community and healthcare system.”
