(GOODMAN, WI.)– The investigation at the Goodman Veneer & Lumber Company is continuing. Goodman firefighters continue to investigate the cause of a blaze. The fire began at approximately 6:35pm on Sunday in the sawmill. No one was in the building at the time. All levels of the southern third of the structure suffered heavy fire damage including the filing room. Firefighters remained on site nearly 12- hours extinguishing hot spots. Goodman firefighters were assisted by firemen from Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine, Fence, Aurora and Laona. Goodman-Armstrong Creek and Laona rescue squads, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office personnel and Wisconsin Public Service plus numerous volunteers who furnished water and food to firefighters.
