The Jake Menghini Museum will be having their annual ‘Museum Guide’ signup and training on Monday, May 14th at 6:00 and Tuesday, May 15th at 1:00 at the Museum, 105 O’Dill Road in Norway. This meeting is welcoming individuals age high school thru senior citizen to be volunteer tour guides during the summer at the Norway museum. The guides are welcome to work as many or as few shifts per month that fit into your schedule. During the summer of 2018 the Museum will begin being open for tours on Friday, June 1st for tours, and will continue to be open on Fridays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. until September 30, 2018. Starting this year, the museum is welcoming high school and college students who have an interest in the history of Norway, Vulcan, Loretto, and Waucedah to be tour guides. The students will be trained by current guides and will continue to work thru the summer with an experienced guide. The Jake Menghini Museum currently houses over 16,000 items in the four buildings at the Odill Farm site. The Odill home is the home of pioneer resident Anton Odill and his family, the farming acreage is now home to the Norway Covenant Church, Bethany Lutheran Church and Grace United Methodist Church. The home has been refurbished and the interior is done with 1800 early 1900 furnishings. Please call the museum at 906-563-5586 for more information.
