(ASHLAND, WI.)–Ashland Police are continuing to investigate what appears to be a homicide. Police were called to 222 12th Ave. E. at about 11:38 Sunday night on a tip that a man there may be injured and is in need of assistance. Police were forced to break into the home, where they found the man dead. Wisconsin State Crime Lab investigators and Wisconsin State Patrol officials responded and continue to process the scene. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed at the medical examiner’s office in Madison, Wis. According to a news release “numerous leads are being followed up on” and a “person of interest” has developed in this case. Police said, “This appears to be an isolated incident.’’ The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of the family.
