(Dickinson Co. MI.) 100+ Women Who Care in Dickinson County selected the Medical Care Access Coalition to receive its generous donation of approximately $22,500 at its final meeting of 2018.
The room full of women at Pine Grove Country Club heard presentations from three 501(c)(3) organizations before making their decision to support this group.
The Medical Care Access Coalition assists the public in applying for health care in Michigan as well as guiding individuals and small business owners on enrolling in the federal market place. It is staffed by certified Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program counselors.
MCAC also is a community partner with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and has taken over the Dickinson County Healthcare System’s Prescription Assistance Program.
The donation from 100+ Women will go into the MCAC’s help fund which provides medical, dental, and vision services for those in the area who are not covered by insurance.
Since its inception in 2012, 100+ Women has now raised over $535,000 for local charitable organizations.
The first quarterly meeting of 2019 is scheduled for Monday, February 11, at which time another 501(c)(3) nomination will be chosen.
All interested women are invited to participate. For more information or to join 100+ Women, email dc100women@dgmail.com.
