(IRON MOUNTAIN, MI.)-A local on-line media had put word out to the public of a special meeting today of the DCHS Board of Trustees, which was not held, and, was not scheduled. It also stated the sale with an Upper Peninsula medical group would not take place. According to a hospital spokesperson, someone within the hospital is leaking information, but unfortunately the wrong information. Supposedly there was a press release that stated the Marquette Based UP Health would not longer be pursuing the purchase of the Dickinson County Healthcare System in Dickinson County. However, the local spokesperson said they do not have that final statement. It’s not on hold and it’s not at it’s end. However, it has been stated the hospital Board of Trustees will continue to search for alternative agreements noting it is unfortunate the way this is unfolding, with an announcement expected later today on a decision to no longer pursue the sale of Dickinson County Healthcare System to Marquette-based UP Health System. A hospital board meeting was tentatively scheduled for Wednesday to discuss possible courses for the future.
