(IRON MOUNTAIN, MI.)–Edwin Mattson, Director of Police and Fire Services in Iron Mountain is reminding residents they should not park on boulevards. “At this time I want to inform the public that during the winter parking ban people are allowed to park their cars on the public right of way on the unpaved boulevard. When the parking ban is not in affect they are not allowed to park their cars on the unpaved public right of way or boulevard. It should be noted that the Winter Parking Ban was over as of 04/01/18. The Iron Mountain Police will be enforcing the ban on boulevard parking. This is being done to preserve the Public Right of Way and infrastructure. When cars are parked on unpaved portions of the public right of way or boulevard when the ground is not frozen it causes damage to the boulevard as well as the edge of the pavement. ”
