…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM CDT MONDAY…
* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. The heaviest snow is expected
through early this evening. Additional snow accumulations of 4
to 7 inches are expected by sunrise Monday. To the east and
southeast of Iron Mountain, including over much of Menominee
county, the snow will mix with light freezing rain as it
diminishes this evening, leading to a light glaze of ice.
* WHERE…Iron, Dickinson and Menominee Counties.
* WHEN…Until 1 AM CDT Monday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, especially on those roads not plowed. As a result,
travel is strongly discouraged. Winds gusting as high as 30 to
40 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow, leading
to brief white-out conditions at times. The strongest winds and
most significant blowing snow will occur along the Bay of Green
Bay, including the city of Menominee.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means severe
winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or
impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
