(MARQUETTE, MI)– – Sawyer International Airport, County of Marquette, announces the arrival of the Antonov 124 Jet at Sawyer International Airport. The aircraft is scheduled to land on April 3, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. and is scheduled to leave Marquette on April 5, 2018, at 12:30 a.m.
The Antonov An-124 Russian aircraft will be arriving at Sawyer to pick up the South Korean helicopter, which has been at Sawyer for approximately six month and transport its return to South Korea.
The Korean Aerospace Industry along with the South Korean Army have been working with the U.S. Army for de-icing tests on military aircraft while stationed at Sawyer.
The Antonov AN-124 Russian aircraft is one of the largest aircrafts in the world. This type of aircraft is used for heavy cargo and is in demand for carrying special goods. It is being operated by Volga-DneprUnique Air Cargo, Inc.
