(IRON MOUNTAIN, MI.)–While on patrol at 12:05 this morning, Iron Mountain Police officers observed a male and a female walking in the area of Carpenter Avenue and Woodward Avenue. When the pair saw the police squad car, both attempted to flee the scene on foot. A 21-year old white female was detained by officers and later lodged at the Dickinson County Correctional Center on an outstanding warrant from Delta County. A black male was located inside the residence at 1234 South Milwaukee Avenue. Further investigation showed the 28-year old black male, who initially ran from officers, was wanted in Outagamie County, Wisconsin on a nationwide pick-up Felony Warrant. Through further investigation it was determined a 23-year old white male was also in the house and was wanted on four outstanding warrants in Menominee County. A search warrant was drafted with the assistance of the Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney, Lisa Richards. A search warrant was drafted when the occupants of the house refused to answer the door for the officers, would not open the door. The CIRT Team, (Critical Incidents Response Team) was activated and responded to the scene. The Team is made up of officers from Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Norway and the Sheriff’s Office. They entered the residence at 5:15am, taking the two remaining individuals into custody. Two other occupants of the residence were detained then released. Also assisting initially at the scene were troopers from the Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post. No names are being released pending arraignments.
