(HANCOCK, MI.)–Work on US-41 in Hancock restarts April 21, according to Dan Weingarten, MDOT Office of Commnications.
The work will resume on Highway 41 on Friday and is the final phases of the project which began in late 2016. The project is expected to be completed by July. It includes the reconstruction of Highway 41 with MDOT investing over $2-Million to reconstruct Front Street between Reservation Street and Portage Lake Lift Bridge, as well as the southbound US-41 connector ramp to eastbound M-26. Traffic as of Friday will be limited to one lane in each direction between the Lift Bridge and Reservation Street. The lift Bridge will be restricted to operating “on the Hour” with no lifts for pleasure craft allowed at the peak hours of 8am, noon and 5pm.
