THE PARKINSON SOCIETY, a support group for Parkinson’s Disease patients, care partners, their families and friends will meet on Thursday, June 8, from 10:00 to 1:00 at the Activity Center at Evergreen Heights Retirement Community on Mary’s Way, just off of Westwood Ave. Please note that the meeting is not at the Presbyterian Church because of Vacation Bible School.
The meeting will begin with a meet and greet at 10:00, music and exercises at 10;45, and general business at 11:00 . Among the discussion items will be the July summer picnic, the presentation in Menominee at the Riverside Golf Club by Dr. Nausieda, a nationally known Parkinson’s expert speaking on Living Well With Parkinson’s Disease. This presentation will be held on June 15. Those wishing to car pool to Menominee will be asked to contact Pauline.
We will also report on the progress of our own symposium to be held on September 22. Helpers will be needed for various activities on that date.
The program on June 8 at Evergreen will be presented by Jill Ellis and Jeff Gurchinoff of JUICE PLUS titled “Juice Plus equals Good Health”.
Also on the program will be Natasha Maule of UP REHAB SERVICES talking about “Boxing as exercise in relation to Parkinson’s.
Two good presentations to peak your interest. Come and join the support group for support, education, fun and healthy living. Lunch will be served after the presentations.
This meeting is open to all Parkinson’s Disease patients and their families, friends, and caregivers. You do not need to be a member to attend. All are welcome.
