The Niagara Lions Club will sponsor its annual winter meat and rifle raffle at Bob’s Country Bar on Saturday, March 4, beginning at 11:00am and running until 6:00pm. The fun will continue into the evening with musical entertainment being performed. There is no cover charge and it promises to be a very fun and entertaining full day of activities with great meat, great rifle prizes, and great music and a great way to battle the wintertime blues.
The fund raiser will get underway at 11:00am with the first drawing meat raffle drawing being shortly after. A large selection of meat delicacies will be again be supplied by Marcouiller’s Foods and Kooch’s Meats. Meat raffle winners will choose from among a great assortment that will include various steaks, including rib eyes, tenderloins, New York Strips, and T-Bones, as well as pork chops, pork steak, pork loins, ham, and bacon. There will be no cover charge and 50-50 drawings will be held. In addition, food and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon and evening and will feature pizza and the full Country Bar sandwich menu.
Drawings for the firearms will get underway at 4:30pm with Lion Joey Johnston again serving as chairman of the event. Tickets will be available at the event and are also currently on sale at Best Buy Liquor, Big 10 Sports Bar, Bob’s Country Bar, Marcouiller Foods, North Star Bar, Pat’s On Main Barber Shop, Pit Stop Bar, Steeno’s Bar, The Bunker, Uptown Lanes & Lounge, and Forward Financial Credit Union. Cost is $10.00 per ticket or three for $20.00. Seven guns and other prizes to be drawn for include the First place prize of a Browning X-Bolt 7mm Mag; 2nd prize is a Winchester XPR 30-06; 3rd is a Savage Axis XPII .270 with 3-9x40 Scope; 4th prize is a Ruger American .308; 5th is a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge Hardwood; 6th is a Barnett Jackal Crossbow Package, and 7th is a CVA Wolf Muzzleloader Blued. The meat raffle will begin at 11:00am with drawings for the firearms taking place at 4:30pm. In addition to these prizes, games will be available with the following prizes to be awarded- a Savage Axis .308, a Ruger 10-22 Hardwood, a CVA Wolf Muzzleloader SS, and a Barnett Jackal Crossbow Package. After the gun raffle and games, in the evening there will be live music. All proceeds will go to support Lions Club activities in the community. The guns are currently on display at the various local taverns where tickets are being sold.
After the last of the rifle raffle prizes have been awarded, the evening entertainment will get underway with popular local Country Western musician Dan Morin & Friends will perform for the delight of the crowd from 6:00-10pm. The “Friends” this year are particularly impressive with Adam and Aaron Mullins, Wyatt Aderman and Menominee county singing phenom Brian Shepeck. There will also be special guest appearances by Doug Morin and daughter Ashley Morin.
Proceeds from the day’s raffles will go to support Niagara Lions Club projects. This past year the club donated nearly $50,000 with the vast majority of those funds being used to support Niagara community needs.
