(Dickinson County Library) AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service, and is celebrating its’ 51st year. The program offers free tax preparation help to anyone, especially those who are 50 or older and are of low to middle income. Membership in AARP is not required.
Services are provided locally at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. Please call the library at 906-774-1218 to register, and you will be contacted to set up an appointment during February or March. A list of items you must bring to have your tax return prepared is available at the library. This is the 7th year that AARP Tax-Aide and the Dickinson County Library have worked together to offer this community service.
AARP Tax-Aide is administered through the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS and Michigan Department of Treasury. Volunteers are trained and IRS certified each year to ensure their knowledge of revisions to the U.S. Tax Code.
