(TROUT LAKE, MI.)–One person is dead following a shooting in Chippewa County. On Saturday, Aug. 11, around 4:00 p.m., Michigan State Police troopers from the Sault Ste. Marie Post responded to reports of a shooting at a rental cabin in Trout Lake. Once troopers arrived, they secured the scene and apprehended one person. Michigan State Police spokesperson said one person was found dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation. Michigan State Police was assisted by Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Sault Tribe Police Department, Chippewa Township EMS, detectives from the Sault Ste. Marie and Negaunee MSP posts, and the MSP Grayling Forensic Lab.
