(VULCAN, MI.)–Michigan State Police Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post were dispatched to an incident in Vulcan of a man being shot. However, while enroute, they learned the man was stabbed and not shot. The assailant was apparently his son. The man had fled the scene. Interviews by troopers and a detective sergeant found a domestic assault had occurred hours earlier between the male subject and his wife. The male had left the residence for several hours. Upon returning, an altercation between the male and his juvenile son, over a set of keys took place with the man suffering stab wounds. After being treated and released at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, the man was arrested for domestic assault and lodged in the Dickinson County Correctional Facility. The juvenile was taken into custody on a juvenile petition authorized by the Dickinson County Probate Judge, transported to the Sault Tribe detention facility in St. Ignace. According to State Police troopers, the names are not being released at this time.
