(MARQUETTE, MI.)–Department of Natural Resources and National Weather Service officials are calling for ELEVATED WILDFIRE POTENTIAL FOR INTERIOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN
AND CENTRAL UPPER MICHIGAN DUE TO A COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS,
DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS.
“Southwest to west winds gusting as high as 20 mph, combined with
dry and warm conditions and a lack of recent rainfall will lead to
elevated wildfire potential today across interior portions of
western and central Upper Michigan. Do not burn today!
Immediately report any wildfires to local emergency services by
calling 911.”
