(IRON MOUNTAIN, MI)– Levon Christian, a Columbus, Ohio man who earlier admitted hiding in an Iron Mountain drug store so he could steal opioid medications for his long-term addiction was sentenced Monday to county jail and probation, but he will face an automatic state prison term if he violates that probation. He was ordered to serve 12-months in jail. and two years probation, plus a possible 23-month prison sentence to be held pending completion of his probation. Christian previously entered a guilty plea to felonies of breaking and entering-with intent, possession of buprenorphine, and two counts of resisting or obstructing a police officer. In the incident, he also climbed through the ceiling of the locked pharmacy, where he hid until all employees had departed the Drug Store and was arrested by police when set off the silent alarm . He fought with officers, who received minor injuries, when he attempted to flee out the back door. As part of his probation, Christian must pay $1,447.07 in restitution, attend treatment, and write letters of apology to The Drug Store staff and Iron Mountain officers.
