(MARQUETTE, MI.)–One person is dead after a one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Marquette County. At 4:50 a.m., Michigan State Police Negaunee Post troopers were dispatched to County Road 550 just north of Sugar Loaf Mountain for a single-car personal injury crash. After investigating, police say it appears a single vehicle was heading southbound on County Road 550, when it left the roadway and struck a power pole, rolling over into a ditch. Twenty- One Year Old Austin Mitchell of Ishpeming was the operator of the vehicle, he was taken by ambulance to UP Health System Marquette was treated and released. Twenty- One year old Jacob Weslin, a passenger in the vehicle of Marquette was pronounced dead at the scene. Michigan State Police was assisted at the scene by Marquette City Police Department, NMU Public Safety, U.P. Health System EMS, and the Marquette Township Fire Department. The investigation of the cause of the accident continues.
