(IRONWOOD, MI.)–Ironwood Public Safety said one person died this morning in a fire at 102 E. Aurora Street. An investigation is continuing. The Ironwood Area Schools closed at 9:30 a.m. due to poor air quality as a result of the downtown fire. The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed 102 E. Aurora is the location of the fire was in the two-story building., a business with apartments on the second floor next to the Chief Oil Company. Few details were released by officials did say one person died as the result of being overcome by the thick smoke.
