.WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THIS MORNING
TO MIDNIGHT CST TONIGHT…
* WHAT…Heavy snow expected, mainly this afternoon into this
evening. The snow may mix with freezing rain or freezing drizzle
at times, especially in Menominee county south of highway US-2.
Plan on difficult travel conditions, especially during the
evening commute today. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 8
inches are expected with lesser snow amounts of 3 to 5 inches
over southern Menominee county. Ice accumulations of around one
tenth of an inch are expected over southern Menominee county.
WHERE…Iron, Dickinson and Menominee Counties. From 6 AM Monday to midnight CST Monday night.
Be prepared for significant reductions in
visibility at times. Because the snow will be wet and heavy,
snow removal will be more difficult. The wet snow and ice will
make roads very slippery.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice are expected. This will make travel very hazardous or
impossible.
