(APPLETON, WI.)–Book World issuing regrets today, as they announce the closure of 45-stores. Beginning on Thursday, a liquidation sale will begin at each store and will run until all Book World Stores have sold all their inventory. The liquidation sale will offer customers deep discounts on books, toys, games, puzzles, magazines, calendars, trading cards, gifts, and all other merchandise. According to Senior Vice President, of Book World Inc., Mark Dupont, “Customers are encouraged to shop immediately to take advantage of the sale while inventory is still available.” He added, “The national shift in the retail marketplace toward e-commerce has triggered the loss of vital mall anchor stores and a downward spiral in customer counts at Book World stores, reducing sales to a level that will no longer sustain business operations.” Book World has stores in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota and Missouri. The first Book World store opened in 1976 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Book World is the Fourth largest book store chain in the United States. Locations can be found at www.bookworldstores.com
