(IRON MOUNTAIN, MI.)–At 6:30 this morning, Iron Mountain Police were dispatched to a two car property damage accident on Lake Antoine Road at Boss Way. While officers were enroute to the accident they were advised the driver of one of the vehicles had fled the scene on foot into the wooded area of Goulette Park. Iron Mountain Police, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Kingsford Public Safety Department officers and Michigan State Police. Members of the agencies set up a perimeter to contain the individual. At approximately 8am this morning the 26-year old from Negaunee was located by Trooper Rossler and K-9 Nikko who had also responded to the scene to assist in the search. The vehicle had been reported missing from Marquette. The Negaunee man was taken into custody and lodged in Dickinson County Correctional Facility pending formal charges and review of the complaint by Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Richards.

UPDATE: Ed Mattson, Director of Police and Fire Services in Iron Mountain said 26-year old Tyler Pauquette of Negaunee was arrested on Charges of
Count 1–Controlled Substance Possession of Marijuana, one year and/or $2,000
Count 2–Operating a Vehicle While Drivers License was Suspended, Revoked or Denied, 93 days or $500
Count 3–Failure to stop at the scene of a Property Damage Accident, 93-days of $100.
Officers learned while searching for Pauquette, who had fled the scene on foot, the vehicle he was driving at the time of the accident was reported stolen to
Marquette Police, with further investigation revealing the vehicle was falsely reported stolen by the owner in an attempt to protect Paquette. The False Police Report of the stolen vehicle is being investigated by Marquette Police.
