(FLORENCE, WI.)–Florence County Sheriff’s Office officials are asking the public to provide information about Nancy Renkas who disappeared one year ago. She lived in Florence County with her two sons, Marvin and Joseph. Nancy Renkas was last seen on July 18th, 2016 at approximately 12:30pm when she parked her vehicle at the Super One Foods parking lot in Iron Mountain. Florence County officials said a few moments later she was seen getting into a white SUV which proceeded east from Super One Foods. Nancy did not return to her vehicle or her home. She was reported missing by her sons the next day. Nancy had planned on returning home that afternoon according to officials who, in their search, found perishable groceries which had been purchased at Marcoulier’s grocery prior to her vehicle being parked at the Midtown Mall. A task force of law enforcement agencies has been established and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office has now taken the lead in the investigation. Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post is now taking a larger role in the investigation as well. The task force however, continues to include the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation from Green Bay and Marquette, who continue to meet to conduct interviews in the attempt to locate Nancy Renkas through various means and resources, “until she is found,” officials said.
