(Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office)
On, April 16, 2017 at approximately 6:24pm, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center received information of a white male armed with a handgun on the 500 block of Lake St. in Quinnesec, MI. The subject reportedly held the weapon to his head.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene of the in incident along with Officers of the Iron Mountain Police Department. Prior to arriving the male subject went to his residence located at 538 Lake Ave.
Deputies established a perimeter around the residence and the Dickinson County Critical Incident Response Tactical Team was requested. Tactical and Negotiators responded to the scene in an attempt for a peaceful resolution of the incident.
Brief contact was made with the male subject in the backyard of his residence. the subject refused to comply with verbal commands of Law Enforcement and returned to the interior of the residence. Multiple attempts to contact the subject by Negotiations were unsuccessful due to the subject’s refusal to talk with Law Enforcement.
At approximately 9:20pm the subject exited his residence. The Dickinson County Critical Incident Response Team was staged at the south of the residence and forcibly took the subject into custody. The subject was evaluated at the scene by the Integrity EMS and transported to the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.
Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Iron Mountain Police Department, MI State Police, Breitung Township Fire Dept., Integrity Care EMS, Kingsford Public Safety Dept., and the Norway Police Department.
