(FLORENCE, WI.)–Officials in Florence County, with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources underwater camera device, located the body of 60-year old Jerry Hamilton of Crystal Falls, in the Brule River. Hamilton had been reported as a missing person on Sunday and was last seen by a family member on Sunday. His vehicle was found on the river, half on ice and half in open water. His body found near where his vehicle was located. An autopsy is expected. Meanwhile, an investigation of incident continues. Chief Deputy, David Gribble, said Hamilton was located 10-feet from his vehicle in five feet of water. Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene by Florence Coroner Mary Johnson. The Florence Fire Department personnel WDNR assisted at the scene. DNR officials provided a fixed wing aircraft which flew the Brule River.
