(PLEASANT PRAIRE, WI.)–A company best known for it’s gummy bear candies is opening its first North American manufacturing plant in Wisconsin. Germany-based candy maker Haribo made the announcement on Thursday. The plant will be carry a price tag of $242-Million and will be located in Pleasant Praire. Governor Scott Walker, during a press said the company’s decision was finalized during their global search. The decision to choose Wisconsin was based on the state’s workforce and cooperation between the public and private sectors. Walker added, “This was the perfect spot.” The plant is expected to open in 2020.
