(MADISON, WI.)–State Senator Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst) and Representative Adam Jarchow (R-Balsam Lake) released a joint statement after Congressman Sean Duffy (R-WI) announced he has introduced legislation to delist the gray wolf in the Great Lakes states:
“We applaud Congressman Duffy for his leadership in introducing this legislation. Delisting the gray wolf is a bipartisan issue and we urge members of Congress to support his proposal and pass this bill as soon as possible. The overpopulation of gray wolves on Wisconsins landscape is harming farmers, hunters, and residents of rural Wisconsin. It is time for the gray wolf to be removed from the Endangered Species List.
We also call upon Governor Walker to take the necessary steps to prepare our state agencies for implementation of a fall wolf hunt.”
